In Andhra Pradesh, Split Card means dividing an existing Rice Card into two separate cards when family members form a new household. This process is handled by the Civil Supplies Department through the Village/Ward Secretariat system.

Split Card is the process of:

Separating one family from an existing Rice Card and issuing a new Rice Card for them.

This usually happens after:

  • Marriage of son/daughter
  • Family partition
  • Separate residence establishment

Who is Eligible for Split Card?

A person/family can apply if:

  • They are already included in an existing Rice Card
  • They are now living separately

Eligibility Conditions

The new household must:

  • Have monthly income below eligibility limit
    • Rural: ₹10,000
    • Urban: ₹12,000
  • Not own disqualifying property
  • Not be Income Tax payer
  • Not include government employee (except eligible categories)
  • Have Aadhaar linked

Step-by-Step Split Card Process

Step 1: Submit Request

Visit Secretariat and request for Split Card.

Step 2: Data Entry

Operator selects members to be separated from existing card.

Step 3: Aadhaar Authentication

Biometric or OTP verification required.

Step 4: Field Verification

VRO/MRI verifies:

  • Income details
  • Family status

Step 5: Approval by Authorities

If eligible → New Rice Card generated
Old card updated by removing separated members.

Step 6: Card Activation

New card becomes active in Civil Supplies system.
